Sustainability Visit to Osaka Prefectural Rowing Center (Takaishi City), training base for para-canoeists

Together with Mr. Ozaki, our chairman, we observed the training of Yuta Takagi and Yasuhide Kobayashi, members of the Japan Para Canoe Federation, of which our company is a sponsor.

Both athletes are top athletes who have continued to perform on the world stage, including reaching the finals of the Para Canoe World Cup held in Brandenburg, Germany, May 14-17, 2026, as finalists.

Although the practice was held in high temperatures on the day of the event, it was very impressive to see them moving powerfully and fluidly on the water.

Para-canoeing is an advanced sport that requires upper body strength and core stability, and is both delicate and dynamic, with a momentary change in balance determining the outcome. It is also a competition that requires a high level of technical skill, concentration, and speed, as the slightest difference in rowing directly affects the time. Seeing the polished skills of these two athletes up close, I realized once again the depth and appeal of the Para-canoeing competition.

Both athletes are currently training hard to qualify for the Asian Championships to be held in Kazakhstan on June 4-7, 2026, and the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympics.

We will continue to support the Japan Para Canoe Federation and its athletes as they continue to take on new challenges.
