NEWS Received the Japan Heat Treatment Technology Association Award for FY 2025 for elucidating heat treatment processes through simulation and contributing to energy conservation and decarbonization

One of our employees received an Association Award from the Japan Heat Treatment Technology Association, a general incorporated association.

Our employees, Takuji Obayashi (Advisor, Heat Treatment Division) and Soichi Yoshii (Manager, Development Section, Development Department), have recently been appointed by the Japan Heat Treatment Technology Association, a general incorporated association, to2025We are pleased to announce that we have received the Best Paper Award (Oba) and the Technical Excellence Award (Yoshii) at the Association’s Annual Awards Ceremony.
This award is an annual program administered by the Japan Heat Treatment Technology Association to honor researchers, engineers, and others who have made outstanding contributions to the advancement of heat treatment technology and the promotion of the industry.
This award recognizes both the recipient’s achievements in elucidating academic mechanisms and publishing technical papers in the field of heat treatment, as well as their long-standing, comprehensive technical contributions spanning heat treatment simulation, on-site technology, energy conservation and decarbonization, and human resource development.

Takuji Obayashi

Award-winning paper: “Martensite Formation and Mechanisms of Heat Treatment Deformation in Water Quenching of Carburized Components”

This research was highly praised for systematically elucidating the mechanism of heat treatment deformation during water quenching of carburized components through both simulation and experimentation, and for demonstrating the potential for practical application of water quenching—which had previously been considered difficult to implement due to significant deformation—through the optimal control of cooling conditions.

Soichi Yoshii

Award-winning topics: “Research on heat treatment strain using heat treatment simulation, various heat treatment tests, and initiatives for energy conservation and decarbonization”

In addition to academic and technical achievements in heat treatment simulation, the award recognized the company’s practical contributions to manufacturing sites, its efforts in energy-saving and decarbonization technologies, and its long-standing contributions to industry development and human resource development.
Moving forward, we will continue to drive technological development by balancing the advancement of heat treatment technologies with the reduction of environmental impact, and we will strive to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society by helping our customers improve their productivity and more.
